Federal & State Advocacy

We need to fight for our citizens at the state and federal level.

Colorado Springs sits at the intersection of national defense, space operations, and outdoor recreation. The mayor must be an aggressive advocate in Denver and Washington — not a passive bystander watching decisions get made for us.

What we will do

  • Actively lobby Congress for military construction, BRAC protection, and defense growth.
  • Fight state mandates that override local land use, energy, and housing decisions.
  • Build relationships across party lines to advance city priorities.
  • Pursue federal and state grants for infrastructure, transit, and economic development.
  • Pursue more federal and state grants for fire risk mitigation.
  • Improve cooperation between industry, our chambers, the County, and others to advocate for better support from the feds and the state.
